27-29th June 2025
Triscele Forge, Derryfada, Co. Tipperary

Following the success of last year’s event, members of Forged in Ireland and FurnaceFestival.ie will continue their research into medieval iron smelting, steelmaking, and forging.

This is a rare opportunity for the public to step back in time and witness—or take part in—the ancient craft of ironworking.

This year, members of the public can join our Smelting School, learning how to turn raw ore into the iron our ancestors used to make the tools and objects that shaped medieval Ireland!

🔥 The Smelting School

€150 per person for all 3 days – camping included
No experience necessary.

Start the weekend by visiting a local bog to learn how to identify, extract, and test iron ore. You’ll then:

  • Process clay
  • Build a furnace
  • Smelt your own iron using medieval techniques

Stay in one of the local hotels or camp on-site and join the metal mayhem of the festival.

For tickets or questions, email furnace@forgedinireland.com or call Jamie on 089 702 7165.
