Forged In Ireland is delighted to support the InHand Forum, a three-day celebration of traditional crafts, heritage skills and hands-on making, taking place at Greenan Museum & Maze in Co. Wicklow this September.
From 18–20 September, makers, craftspeople, researchers and curious members of the public will come together for a weekend packed with workshops, demonstrations, experimentation and talks.
And there’s plenty to interest anyone with a passion for the forge. The 2026 programme includes bladesmithing, blacksmithing and tool-making, metal casting, stone polishing and ore-to-artefact workshops, alongside a whole host of other traditional crafts.
Forged In Ireland will also be represented at the Forum, with our tutors leading a Blacksmithing for Beginners workshop. It’s a hands-on introduction to traditional blacksmithing, where participants can get to grips with the basics of working hot metal and forge their own small object.
For the first time, InHand Forum is also open to the public throughout the weekend, giving visitors the chance to see traditional crafts being practised, explore live experiments and meet the people keeping these skills alive.
Whether you're an experienced maker, an aspiring blacksmith or simply fascinated by how things were made before the modern world took over, InHand looks like a fantastic weekend of fire, craft, knowledge and making.
